Product Care
keep your jewelry always in nice condition
General
The MOUSSON ATELIER jewelry is crafted entirely by our skilled goldsmiths using 18-karat gold, 950 Platinum and rare, beautiful gemstones. To preserve its allure, MOUSSON ATELIER suggests adhering to some general usage recommendations: inspect the jewelry's integrity, particularly the locking mechanism, before wearing it.
Avoid wearing MOUSSON ATELIER jewelry while washing your hands (residual soap can discolor them), household chores (cleaning agents, abrasive materials, and physical stress can harm the gems and the jewelry itself), or engaging in sports (saltwater or chlorine, perspiration, and blows can damage both the gems and the jewelry).
It is suggested to steer clear of exposing the jewelry to extreme heat and sudden changes in temperature that can result in permanent damage to the gemstones. Avoid donning MOUSSON ATELIER jewelry when applying perfume, lacquers, and makeup due to their chemical composition, which could affect the gemstones adversely.
To keep your Mousson Atelier jewelry in good condition, store each piece separately in its original packaging or a protected container to prevent scratches from contact with other items. Additionally, protect them from humidity and heat sources. It is recommended to fasten the clasps of bracelets and necklaces to prevent tangling.
Care & Cleaning
To clean gold jewelry, first immerse it in warm water and scrub gently using a brush with soft bristles. Afterward, pat the jewelry dry using a soft, unblemished cloth instead of rubbing it.
Although diamonds are hard, it is still a delicate stone and can break with sudden impact. Diamonds can easily scratch gold or stones if they come into contact, therefore it is recommended to place each piece of jewelry in its own casing or in travel pouches. Clean the diamonds with warm water and a brush with soft bristles, then dry by dabbing (not rubbing) with a soft, undamaged cloth.
Due to being organic in nature, pearls can lose their shine when exposed to oils, perfumes, detergents, and other substances. As they are made from a fragile, natural material, they are susceptible to scratches and damage from chemical agents. Therefore, to ensure their preservation, pearls should be cleaned with a gentle touch using a soft, damp cloth.
To maintain the quality of jewelry with colored gemstones, it's crucial to handle them delicately and prevent any sudden impacts on hard surfaces. Natural colored gemstones may have variations in color or inclusions, and placing them in contact with chemicals like perfumes, oils, and detergents can affect their luster. It's also important to avoid exposing them to sudden changes in temperature or high heat. Soft brushing and warm water are ideal for cleaning, and the jewelry should be dried by gently dabbing it with a soft, undamaged cloth rather than rubbing it.
